Description

This is an original vinyl LP copy of Roy Brooks' 1964 album Beat on Workshop Jazz Records, a subsidiary of Motown. After dropping out of college in his first year to go on tour with Yusef Lateef, Brooks embarked on an illustrious career backing great musicians such as Horace Silver, Sonny Stitt, Dexter Gordon and Chet Baker. He assembled his own band in 1963 and Beat is his first album as a leader. Brooks is joined here by Blue Mitchell on trumpet, Eugene Taylor on bass, Hugh Lawson on piano, George Bohanon on trombone and Junior Cook on tenor saxophone.

Vinyl is excellent. Cover has light scratch on front and light ring wear. Corners have some dings. Has original Motown/Tamla/Gordy inner paper sleeve. Please see pictures for further condition, and feel free to ask questions! Our condition gradings are based on the Goldmine Grading Guide.
