You are bidding on two great original copies of The Rolling Stones' "Not Fade Away" on the Decca & London labels, 1964, Mono for both.
The London label US version is: LON 9657 with the B-side: "I Wanna Be Your Man" With picture sleeve.
The Decca Label UK version is F 11845 with the B-Side: "Little By Little" With original Decca sleeve.
The Rolling Stones version of "Not Fade Away" was one of their first classic hits. Recorded in late January of 1964, it was their first Top 5 hit in Great Britain, reaching #3 and staying on the charts for 15 weeks. It was also the first single release of The Stones in the United States by London Records, reaching only into the mid-40's on the US charts. It was also placed as the opening track of their first US album, England's Newest Hitmakers. It was a mainstay on Stones tours throughout their early years,usually opening a show. It was revived in that capacity for the 1994 Voodoo Lounge Tour.
The Rolling Stones' version of I Wanna be Your Man, an early hit single for them, was very "bluesy" and featured Brian Jones's distinctive slide guitar. It also is one of the few Stones songs to feature backing vocals by Jones
