Description
In this auction is an UNCOMMON ROLLING STONES PROMOTIONAL RECORD.
Here are the details:
-
“DECEMBER’S CHILDREN” by The Rolling Stones
-
This is London Records SBG 43.
-
It is a STEREO PRESSING that was issued in 1968.
-
This is a PROMOTIONAL COMPACT 33 (7-Inch Extended Play) RECORD.
-
It is also called an LLP (Little Long Play) Record that plays at 33 & 1/3 RPMs like an LP (instead of at 45 RPMs like a 7-inch single) and has 3 songs on each side.
-
As you may know, PROMOTIONAL RECORDS, like the one in this auction, were issued by London Records in very small/limited quantities and were NOT released for sale to the general public. They were only made available for promotional purposes to, for example, DJs at the Radio Stations for on-air play or to vendors to be used for juke box play; therefore, many promotional records like this one have become highly sought after by vinyl collectors and fans of certain recording artists/bands.
-
This Compact 33 or LLP (Little Long Play) has 3 songs on each side taken from the Rolling Stones’ LP “December’s Children”:
-
Side 1: “Talkin’ About You”, “Look What You’ve Done” and “Get Off Of My Cloud”
-
Side 2: “I’m Free”, “Gotta Get Away” and “As Tears Go By“
-
-
The LABELS are NICE & CLEAN with VERY MINIMAL WEAR as you can see in the images.
-
The VINYL is in VG CONDITION to VG- (VG Minus) CONDITION depending on the cut and side. I listened to both sides of the record. Side 1 seems to be in VG- Condition. Side 1 has some areas that look like rubbing or groove wear perhaps caused by jukebox wear. Side 2 seems to be in VG Condition though the level of audible distraction on “As Tears Go By” seemed higher than the other cuts on that side, probably because it is a quieter track. There are surface scuffs/hairlines on both sides (but none are “feelable”). I played both sides of this record and the level of audible distractions seems consistent with VG and VG- grades. The record has a nice degree of gloss.

This record was issued in a hard (cardboard) picture cover with title strips. The hard (cardboard) cover picture sleeve and title strips are NOT included in this auction.
