Description

I am the original owner of this record; it is from my personal collection that I began building in the 1950's.   I am NOT a dealer or professional record-grader, so I have not assigned grades. However, prior to listing, I have cleaned the record using "Groove Washer G2" record-cleaning fluid, and I have listened to each track. Following is my assessment, based on these visual and listening reviews:
Recorded live at the Newport Jazz Festival on July 5, 1958, and features Ray Charles on both the piano and playing alto sax.

COVER:  glossy with some edge wear at corners; cover-art does not extend all the way to the right edge, leaving about 1/8" strip that is not glossy (have seen this same characteristic in photos of this same cover in other eBay listings); no split seams; light foxing on back; inner sleeve is not original.

VINYL:  shiny, with some dulling due to play; a few light scratches/scuffs, but nothing that affects play; sound is clear with little surface or background noise; an occasional pop or crackle; plays through without skips or sticking.
LABEL:  **Black** label, which was the second mono label that Atlantic used (1955-1958); shows some foxing and some spindle marks.

The album will ship in an archival outer vinyl sleeve, and will be boxed in a cardboard album mailer.
Payment is expected within 2 days following completion of the auction.  PayPal only, please.
