Survival SR-101 orig. US pressing, 1973 M-/M-
An incredibly hard-to-find original vinyl pressing of Rashied Ali & Frank Lowe's 1973 super-session "Duo Exchange" or just "Exchange". Issued in a small batch (not sure how many were made) on Ali's on Survival Records, this is the original issue, not sure if there have even been reissues of this one. This LP is a monster of high energy playing and in-the-red free music. Seriously, this is the stuff that free jazz enthusiasts or improvised music nuts can consider "Holy Grail" material. Two side-long pieces that go all over, tenor sax and drums akin to the most out there Albert Ayler, Coltrane (later period, think "Sun Ship" or "Stellar Regions"), Don Cherry, etc moments.
