Description

Wow. A rare “east coast” mono 1st pressing of “The Velvet Underground & Nico” debut album with a peel able “banana” sticker adhered to the front cover. A Verve T-5008 record pressing. This item is a genuine 1st pressing which has the image of actor Eric Emerson projected upside-down on the back cover (see photo). Commonly known as the “Torso” or “Emerson” cover. The story is well known online if you need further explanation. The vinyl labels clearly show “side 1” and “side 2” print hence east coast pressing. Gatefold cover. The vinyl looks good and glossy despite its age and the poor condition most of these vinyl lps are found in. There are some very minor scratches and wear, but I have not seen a better quality copy, but that’s just my opinion. Judge the condition for your self on the Album cover and vinyl. No cracks or chips on the vinyl. I’m very impressed with the labels and lack of much wear around the spindle hole. Again, judge for yourself. The cover looks great and shows minor storage wear. I measured a little over 4” seam split on back top cover from opening. Other small splits on top 1” and some paper loss (see photo). Bottom seam looks pretty good for age with minor wear and corner bumps. The Title seam looks great with only minor wear(see photo). Please judge front, back and center fold covers for yourself as to wear. Comes with COA from Gotta Have Rock and Roll Auctions dated 4/15/2023. Original inner sleeve enclosed in G condition with a minor tear at center top. Released March 1967. 5 day auction with a set sale price but I will accept reasonable offers up to the BIN. First come first served. Item ships UPS within 48 business hours of receiving confirmed payment into my Ebay account. Payment due within 24 hours of auction’s end. No international buyers please, sorry. No refunds or returns on this item so study the photos and zoom in carefully and ask any questions before bidding.
