Background / History Difficult to Cure is the fifth studio album by the British hard rock band Rainbow, and it was released in 1981. It was the first album to feature Bobby Rondinelli on drums and Joe Lynn Turner on lead vocals after the departures of Cozy Powell and Graham Bonnet respectively, following the release of Down to Earth. The album marked the continuing commercialization of the band's sound, with Ritchie Blackmore once describing at the time his appreciation of the band Foreigner. It became the band's highest-charting album on the UK Albums Chart, where it peaked at number three.
Allegedly, the album's cover (designed by Hipgnosis) had originally been proposed for use on Black Sabbath's 1978 release Never Say Die!. "I Surrender" would be the band's highest charting single in the UK, reaching No. 3.
Condition Report The Vinyl is described as Excellent+ & easily played to that standard today, below average background & no skips or stops. Several spindle marks to both labels. There are a reasonable number of fine hairlines & sleeve marks to both sides of the record. The Vinyl has retained much of its rich waxy lustre. The Cover is described as VG+. There is a reasonable amount of edge/spine & corner-wear. There are fine cracks to spine & edges with associated wrinkles & fine creases to the corners. There is ring-wear to front & verso. There are some colour losses as well as paper losses to edges & spine & minimally to front & reverse of the cover. Seam split to spine has been repaired tastefully. Couple of minor stains here & there. The Inner The Picture Lyric Sleeve Insert is described as Excellent... tiny tear at base edge. Please see attached photos...
