Description
A nice condition example of the original 1965 UK reel to reel 3 & 3/4 ips mono tape release of "Rubber Soul" by The Beatles complete with two- page "Emitape" leaflet and the warranty slip. Cat No TA-PMC-1267. Released at the same time as the original vinyl album in 1965.
Clean, no split corners to lid and base, intact and unbroken spool, clear printed leader tape, no pen markings/writing, very light minor stains to box. Retailer's quality advertising label to bottom right of lid.
"Pink star" tax code to rear of base box indicating the tape was returned by the retailer to EMI for purchase tax credit when unsold. (Stock was bought on a sell or return basis). It would have then been sold by another retailer, when output again by EMI. Indication that reel to reel Beatles albums were rare purchases in comparison to the vinyl LP in the 1960s.
Played and tested - perfect. Emitape leaflet and warranty slip as new. Rare in this unmolested condition.
