Description

As follows:
Decca LK 4955.
The Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet.
Original UK Unboxed Mono Press, 1968.
Rare 'Pancake' label, as opposed to the Grooved Press.
Matrix Numbers:
XARL-8476-6A XARL-8477-2A
There are some prominent light scuffs and hairlines to the vinyl surfaces, but none are deep, and it plays very well, but lots of background noise, crackle and some pops.
Please note this LP is not audiophile quality, so do not expect as such.
However, the original 1960s pressings (especially mono format), in my opinon still superior to the recent 'reissues' not taken from the master, or mixed properly, many of which used compressed digital mixes for their 'masters'.
Would benefit from a clean on a professional machine, I am sure.
Fully Play Tested.
Condition Vinyl:  GOOD+/GOOD+
Side One: Track One (Sympathy For The Devil) commences amid heavy crackle and some pops, for approximately the first minute. Light crackle and isolated pops/clicks through the majority of Tracks 2 to beginning of Track 5. The majority of Track 5 (Jig Saw Puzzle) plays superbly, with no background noise whatsoever.
Side Two: Tracks One and Two (Street Fighting Man, Prodigal Son) features heavy crackle at the beginning and the end. A series of clicks at the end of 'Stray Cat Blues', which leads into the beginning of 'Factory Girl'. Crackle and pops also audible at the beginning of 'Salt Of The Earth', some pops also through the middle passage of this last track.

Condition Sleeve: VG
Some wear and tear, mainly to spine and edges. The sleeve looks discoloured in photos, due to the artificial light, but most of this pressing are like this. Inner picture has no issues and is preserved well. The spine is a rather brown colour, due to handling, hence only partially readable, with ;The Rolling Stones' not fully legible. Sleeve does not smell of smoke.
The LP is housed in what looks like the original inner sleeve.
