REVEREND GARY DAVIS "PURE RELIGION!" mono lp on Prestige Folklore FL 14028 US issue 1965? VG+/VG+. (New dealer: Please check my About Me page.)
I would grade this LP VG+. It plays great, but has some minimal noise that was not there when the record was new. It may also have noticeable visual marks consistent with a well cared for and very appreciated record that’s had a moderate amount of play. This LP still plays great and has lots of shine and is beautiful overall. THIS IS A VINTAGE COPY (pre-2000) This is a very well preserved jewel of an lp. Gets no better. The tunes: SAMPSON AND DELILAH; LET US GET TOGETHER; I BELONG TO THE BAND;PURE RELIGION; GREAT CHANGE; DEATH DON'T HAVE NO MERCY; TWELVE GATES TO THE CITY; GOIN' TO SIT DOWN; TRYIN' TO GET HOME; LO, I BE WITH YOU ALWAYS; LIGHT OF THIS WORLD; LORD, I FEEL LIKE JUST GOIN' ON. I would guess this is a first press but I'm not certain. The Jacket: (I don’t rate any jackets with my initials NM) In black magic marker, my initials back upper left, an x back lower left. A very functional jacket. I would rate the cover VG+ overall with seam and corner wear. A 1" seam tear top. Very small cut-out hole. But the front cover is beautiful. A great package.
