RENE THOMAS Quintet - Guitar Groove - JAZZLAND 27 (orange label, medium thick vinyl and a Deep Groove) - This amazing sessions features J.R.MONTEROSE (tenor sax), RENE THOMAS (guitar), HOD O’BRIEN (piano), TEDDY KOTICK (bass) and ALBERT HEATH (drums). The cover has a ½ inch split at the openings of the top and bottom seam. The rest of the seams and the front and back are very clean. The cover is graded E-. The vinyl is graded VG. There is some light surface noise that is not noticeable during louder tracks (especially sax solos) but can be heard during quieter passages. The worst distraction is during the song “How Long” where there is a pop that is heard for 13 revolutions toward the end of the song. There are no skips and otherwise it is an enjoyable listen.
