Description
A very good complete example of the original 1963 UK reel to reel 3 & 3/4 ips mono tape release of " Please Please Me" by The Beatles complete with the "Emitape" guarantee leaflet, the packing/warranty slip and the small circular green and gold Parlophone logo sticker to the spool. Cat No TA-PMC-1202. Released at the same time as the original vinyl album in 1963.
Clean, intact and unbroken "Emitape" etched spool, clearly title-printed white leader tape with red trailing Part 2 leader tape, no pen markings/writing to lid or base. Rare purchases in comparison to the vinyl LP in the 1960s, usually by audiophiles wanting top quality sound from 1/4 inch tape running at a fast 3&3/4 ips. Usually ordered by the customer by special order as not all retailers carried it in their stock. Please see all photographs.
Played throughout both sides and tested - perfect. Emitape leaflet and warranty slip much like new. (Either, or both are usually missing.) Rare in this complete and excellent condition.
Note: Glorious twin track mono can be played on four track stereo tape recorders.
It is a pleasure to listen to the Beatles albums without the usual "pop, crackle and hiss" of vinyl discs, and on the rare, original, official then-tape format too.
Please see my other original Beatles tapes for sale, and "A Guide To Beatles Reel to Reel Tapes".
