NOTES: Yes, this is original shaded dog Stereo release. Stampers are as follows in order of sides: 4S/1S/1S/1S. I am not going to exaggerate the condition in order to make a buck; if anything I'm being very strict on my grading. None of the records have horrible scratches, but there are light scuffs, marks, etc. A thorough VPI type cleaning may result in an upgrade. I've listened to the whole thing twice and heard no skips; the worst thing is occasional pops here and there. I would say overall this is an enjoyable listening experience, although obviously not for someone looking for a quiet perfect copy. Here are some detailed grades for each side:
Side 1 (4S): visual VG. the Nutcracker Suite plays VG and has more surface noise than La Boutique Fantasque which plays VG+.
Side 2 (1S): visual VG, although Side overall plays at least a weak VG+ or better.
Side 3 (1S): visual and play grade VG; label slightly dirty.
Side 4 (1S): visual and play grade VG+, although on the weaker side of VG+
Original RCA inner sleeves are present. See above for notes on booklet condition. Also includes smaller insert sheet. The sliding inside book cover is in nice shape.
GRADES: SEALED, NM, EXC, VG+, VG, VG-, G, FAIR, POOR.
I grade strictly under bright light. My highest grade for an unsealed record is NM (NEAR MINT) - a record must look like new to be graded NM! An EXC record will show only slight signs of prior play. A VG+ is a solid used record that should play well but has minor visual flaws. A VG has more obvious flaws BUT is not trashed. Records graded VG- or worse will often play much better than they look.
