**RAREST** Elvis Presley VIP boxed album set -1969-August- Internatl.Hotel & LOA
This is one of the rare boxed sets that were given to the invited guests at Elvis' "comeback" performances in August of 1969. It is rare because they were never on sale. You had to be one of the "VIPs" who attended the show to receive one. Mary and Patti Diskin, who ran the Elvis office for Colonel, could never get away from work to see one of the shows so Colonel brought one back for each of them. This one was Patti's. I marked it M- because she wrote her name inside and I think she must have inadvertantly leaned her forearm on the box edge while doing it, thus the open corner. It is the bottom right when the box is closed. There is no paper loss to the corner however and otherwise the corners are nice and square. Mary and Patti put all their things away in trunks to keep them safe and so nearly everything they ever recieved is still in mint condition. The insert pictures are all 8x10s and are beautiful. I did not include "First Class" shipping because this weighs more than 13 ounces, the cut-off for 1st class. I will ship this any way you want me to as long as there is tracking.

All of the items you are bidding on come directly from Col. Parker's office. Many are my own, gifts from Col. and/or my uncle Tom Diskin, going back to 1957 when I was in 5th grade. If I knew then what I know now, my little brother and I probably would not have winged the 45's at each other like frisbees or at the poor little, but quick, squirrels. My older sister and I probably would not have PASTED all the posters and pics on the wall of our shared room. Also, I was co-executor of my sweet Aunts' estates. Mary and Pattie Diskin ran the office (Boxcar, All Star Shows) from the beginning to the end. They shared a home in Madison (Nashville) Tennessee and worked together every day. All of the gifts and promos and goodies that Col. gave them were put away in trunks and so are as new in most cases. Most of the albums are still sealed. After Elvis died the Col. sold his collection to Graceland. When he retired he told Mary and Pattie to clear out the office and take the remaining office files. They had the filing cabinets moved to the basement where they remained till they passed away. Ahh. History.
