Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +21,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. January 1968 release of the much anticipated set of Morrison's poetic and often bizarre lyrical imagery against THE DOORS theatrical backing; Krieger's bluesy guitar and the spiraling keyboards of Manzarek. Their sudden soaring chart success, however, alienated a few fans from their original audience, who no longer considered them "underground" enough, while their concert audiences increasingly consisted of teenage girls, drawn by Morrison's sexy performing style. "Hello, I Love You" pushed them firmly into the rock mainstream.
That said, the DOORS peculiar raw sound, surrealistic elements and Morrison's off-the wall poetry really make this a genuine Doors classic ! The record begins with two infeectious classic Doors love songs, which are followed by marvelous "Not to Touch The Earth", a constantly growing aggressive chant spinning up to it's atavistic climax, containing the famous "Lizard King" phrase. "Summer's Almost Gone" is a enchanting surreal song, followed by the melancholy poetic "Wintertime Love" as an effective groove. "Unknown Soldier" is the Vietnam WAR protest song, combining ethereal theatrical elements. There was a famous film produced for this tune, where Morrison get's shot in an impressionistic execution sequence. - The clever element of early Doors albums is style and how they combine compelling art-rock elements with challenging and surrealistic instrumentation. Such inventive themes made their music accessible for very large audiences!
- The B-side starts with "Spanish Caravan", revealing the magic-fingers ala Latin/folk music background of the guitarist Krieger. There are some quotations of Albenitz guitar suites; the traditional flavor gets treated with psychedelic sound textures.
- "My Wild Love" is archaic Indian chant painting of howling acid-visions with the poet/singer dancing around a nocturnal fireside in the desert.
- "Yes, The River Knows" featuring strong melody brims with effective moods.
- “Five to One” finds the mighty DOORS in their full forceful glory. To his legions of followers Jim shouts “No one here gets out alive!” and that he is ready and willing to trade in his hours for a handful of dimes. Of course nobody knew exactly what he was talking about at the time when he was walking down a one-way street toward Dylan’s desolation row - and no one could stop him. The overindulgence JIMBO couldn’t resist when his alter-ego madness began to unfold
