Offered here is an original 1960 Dolton Records 45 by Seattle instrumental legends The Frantics, featuring the regional hit “Werewolf” backed with the humorous companion piece “No Werewolf.” This scarce Northwest instrumental helped establish The Frantics as one of the Pacific Northwest’s premier early rock bands before the surf rock explosion of the early 1960s.
Written by Wadsworth & Hodge, both sides feature the band’s signature twangy guitar sound and driving instrumental style. Dolton Records is best known as the original home of The Ventures, making early Dolton releases especially desirable to collectors of Northwest rock, surf, and instrumental music.

* Vinyl grades VG overall.
* Light to moderate surface scratches and scuffs consistent with normal play.
* Labels show handling wear.
* Portions of both labels have protective tape applied.
* Light dead wax etching is present, including the release year (1960) and cataloging notes from the original collector.

Provenance
This record comes from the private collection of a legendary Detroit crate-digger and one-time DJ and bears the unmistakable marks of his preservation techniques, including carefully taping portions of the labels most prone to wear and lightly etching the release year into the dead wax. These distinctive characteristics document its history and add to its appeal as a genuine collector’s piece.
