BRAND NEW 7 inch 45 rpm vinyl record -  in a PICTURE "SLEEVE" - as scanned. This is the ORIGINAL October 1979 pressing on the Double Think label # dtdt 7 - Not to be confused with the re-release version of December 1998 on the Small Axe label. Picture sleeve is a fold out sheet. Record lives inside a plain white paper sleeve inside this fold-out sheet.

This record has punk icon status!  One sold recently on eBay U.S.A for more than US $400!    

"I hate school" is a huge anti-social punk riff.

SUICIDE SQUAD WAS A PUNK BAND FORMED BY 3 SCHOOL FRIENDS (MARK EASTON, CON MURPHY AND MICK ADAMS ) FROM THE WOLLONGONG AREA IN 1978.   AUDITIONS WERE HELD AND STEVE CORD WAS TAKEN ON AS DRUMMER. 

THE ‘GONG MUSIC ESTABLISHMENT TOLD THEM PLAINLY THAT THEY WERE NOT WELCOME ON THE ‘GONG LIVE MUSIC SCENE UNLESS THEY WERE PREPARED TO PLAY COVERS OF CURRENT TOP 40 SONGS, SO THE BAND RE-LOCATED TO SYDNEY.

AFTER MANY VERY POPULAR LIVE SHOWS IN SYDNEY, DRUMMER MICK ADAMS WAS SACKED AND ANNIE BARRETT WAS HIRED AS THE NEW SINGER.   THEIR FIRST (AND ONLY) SINGLE "I HATE SCHOOL/NEW KIDS ARMY" WAS RECORDED ON THE DOUBLE THINK LABEL.   THE BAND DID A LOT OF LIVE WORK IN THE SYDNEY AREA UNTIL THE NEW DRUMMER STEVE CORD QUIT AND VOCALIST ANNIE BARRETT WAS SACKED.

VIC VOMIT (from Vic Vomit and the Varicose Veins) WAS HIRED AS NEW SINGER BUT ONLY LASTED A FEW GIGS.  KIWI DANNY COUMBE WAS HIRED AS VOCALIST AND PETER GORMLEY AS DRUMMER BUT THE BAND EVENTUALLY TOTALLY SPLIT, PROBABLY BECAUSE OF MANY INTERNAL CONFLICTS. 

MARK AND CON WENT ON TO FORM "THE KELPIES" AND THEN PROGRESSED TO “SOGGY PORRIDGE” WITH DANNY COUMBE. LATER INCARNATIONS ARE “CANDY HARLOTS” AND THEN “MARK EASTON LIMOUSINE”.

IN DECEMBER 1998, “I HATE SCHOOL” WAS RE-RELEASED ON THE SMALL AXE LABEL.

These records have been lying untouched in a warehouse for around 30 years! 

This record, and many thousands of other    BRAND NEW   records, were found by us in a warehouse in Sydney about 10 years ago. We shipped the whole lot to Hobart and we are slowly working our way through the mountain of vinyl records and cataloguing them all to prepare them for sale.

This record is   BRAND NEW MINT   - absolutely and definitely un-played. It has a small centre hole.
