As is my usual practice, especially in summer, I went "saleing" yesterday, stopping at every estate, garage and yard sale I could find. I have to admit that records is "not my thing", as you find boxes of the same old stuff over and over, and I find the record buyers at sales generally obnoxious and rude.
Out of curiosity only, I started perusing a 1960's-70's 45RPM carrying case. The first thing I noticed was that it wasn't the "same old" records that I know too well, and am STILL tired of from radio stations playing them to death 50+ years ago. I noticed, too, that almost all were still in their original sleeves AND well cared-for. Many times, they can look as if someone ate a meal off of them or used them to play when they couldn't locate their Frisbee. As I'm looking at the records, I notice a particularly annoying record nazi has just pulled in, blocking the driveway. "How much for the WHOLE BOX?' I ask quickly. We made the deal, I got the records, and another nazi plot was foiled! Most of the records turned out to be fairly run-of-the-mill stuff, until I got to THIS one. It's an EXTREMELY RARE VINTAGE UNITED ARTISTS ORIGINAL PRESSING of UK's NORTHERN SOUL ARTIST RAY POLLARD singing "THE DRIFTER" on one side and "LET HIM GO (AND LET ME LOVE YOU)" on the other. You have NEVER seen a vintage 45 RPM THIS clean and blemish-free before! I took lots of pix for you to examine. Note that the record sleeve also has an original price stamped on it of "67 (cents)".
