Description

This is my EX / EX  condition and TRUELY RARE UK ISLAND RECORDS copy of THE FABULOUS VAGABONDS, recorded in Jamaica, before JIMMY JAMES toured and settled in the UK. This is not a SKA LP, but like the first BYRON LEE LP on ISLAND it is a recording of how the band played to the hotel audiences on the north coast of Jamaica. The vinyl is in great general shap but has been played and there are visible spindle marks on the White / Red early ISLAND labels. The laminated sleeve is still strong and firm, with just some very light corner creasing and a tiny creases near the record opening being present. This is the only copy of this LP I have ever seen and it is an LP that captures Chris Blackwell trying to get his newly arrived UK Jamaicans to invest in LPs - a battle we all know he lost! Hence the total obscurity of this LP  A RARE & HISTORIC TIMEPIECE. Jimmy James is listed as 'vocalist' in the band, but the album is basically an instrumental LP!
