among the very finest progressive records ever made - everything is perfect here, from the simple, yet so effective sleeve art to the "beautiful noise" captured inside - no way do you miss, or even notice, the absence of electric guitar, since the dual onslaught of keyboards by Graham Field (organ) and David Kaffinetti (electric piano) is unbelievably potent - Steve Gould displays one of the strongest vocal performances I have ever encountered and tears it up with strident bass guitar as well - massive drumming from Mark Ashton completes the instrumental picture - however, special mention must be made of the supremely competent songwriting and ultra-tight arrangements - no messing about here - sure there are long, paint-stripping solos everywhere, but they're sharp, incisive blasts which only add to the atmosphere without ever descending into tedium - these guys were the business - if you want top British prog without the yawns, this LP was never equalled by ANYONE

super heavy and thick 1st pressing with high gloss surfaces - a top original
few plays only - merely some tiny, insignificant traces from the original plain white paper inner sleeve
labels VIRTUALLY AS NEW
original heavily textured pink ‘scroll’ Charisma
both labels are really lovely - bright, sharp and clean
cover EXCELLENT
superb laminated sleeve - a beautiful example
blazing (dazzling) gloss to the lamination and rich, vibrant colour - wonderful pale blue tinted rear photo of the band
near perfect spine with all lettering jet-black and sharp - cover has no splits, tears, writing, stickers, stains, scuffs, or stamps
just a couple of minimal superficial creases along the front left edge - tight seams with no shelf wear - corners have very light bumps - razor-sharp opening edges
almost no rubbing or circular wear to either the front or back cover, which is truly astonishing - this 1st press original is remarkably unmarked
