Description

CONTINENTAL U.S. BIDDERS ONLY.
Here for offer is the very rare Quadraphonic (4 channel sound) version of Deep Purple's "Machine Head", released in 1974 on Warner Bros. (originally released in 1972). This disc uses the CD-4 encoding system, so if you want to play this album back in 4 channel sound, you need a receiver or decoder that can decode the CD-4 process. you can however, still listen to this album in regular stereo and it will play fine, and just sound like an alternate mix of the album. Either way, it's a great album to hear this way, with extra guitar and vocal parts that weren't on the original stereo version of the album. The gatefold sleeve is in VG+ condition, due to some normal shelf wear, but other than that there are no splits or tears, all colors are vibrant and all text is legible. The inner sleeve with info about the quadraphonic process is in nice shape and so is the huge lyric poster. The LP itself is also in VG+ condition, with sleeve marks which don't appear when held under a strong light and don't affect play. Word to the wise: if you plan on playing this album in Quad, you will need a shibata (also called line contact/line tracing) stylus, and it would also be a good idea to give the record a good cleaning to get the best sound out of this disc.

Here's a chance to own a rare version of a classic album, long out of print, at a great price.

NO RETURNS, CONTINENTAL U.S. BIDDERS ONLY.
