Description
For your consideration is a rare vintage 10 inch 78 rpm record by Peerless Quartet entitled "When Evening Shadows Fall" and "Dear Old Girl". This disc bears the now extremely rare Meteor label, produced for a short period of time between 1919 and 1920. The Meteor company of Piqua, OH was originally a car manufacturer who in the late teens decided to enter into the phonograph market. They decided they should have records to accompany their new product and were able to license rights to some Earle Jones masters, which were being used by Lyric, Harmograph, Cleartone and other small, short lived labels of the period. These records are very rare today. Piqua, OH is also famous in music history for being the birthplace of the Mills Brothers and Harry Reser!
