One of the earliest matrices !!!
1975 original FIRST PRESS release with the black, polythene bag still wrapped around its delicate album sleeve ! ! The edges are open, so can easily disengage from main album cover.
Sticker is a replica of the record label format used on this pressing and is in excellent condition. . Coloration is vivid and strong and unfaded. The black bag is in good condition, with clean cut edges.
Comes complete with first issue crinkle cut postcard, printed by Hipgnosis . One crease observed on one corner. No fading and no loss of coloration. Coloration remains vivid and strong. Lovely collectors’ item and in very good condition .
Outer sleeve obviously uncovered for some time, with black polythene bag, exposing the single sleeve to possible wear and tear. In actual fact, on examination, there is minimal discoloration . Opening edge is excellent with hardly any feathering visible . Excellent condition.
Inner sleeve has the rarer, first issue, straight cut corner edges - the earliest first issue of this gigantic rock classic .Two seam splits observed ,from an internal inspection .Lower edge is quite major but minor only, on one of the laterals. Very good condition with hardly any ring wear visible . NO discoloration at all. Beautiful orange scarf projects magnificently against a windswept landscape. There is a deep, dark secret about the orange scarf which not many people know about. The winning bidder will be informed of its secret after auction end.
VINYL
Thickly pressed vinyl with a beautiful sheen . A few surface marks/hairlines/light scratches/scuff observed, if angled against a bright light . Glossy sheen on surfaces. Thicker pressed quality vinyl, unlike later pressings . This vinyl has wider grooves producing a much better sound quality and the feel of the vinyl is far more robust .Later pressings were thinner and more flexible . This first UK pressing has mirror like surfaces, with a very good visual and is a pleasure to view.

Have listened to dozens of these, and it is remarkable how difficult it is to find a really good audio from this pressing. These records were heavily played as they were extremely popular in the seventies to the present day.
The listener will not be disappointed .The deep resonations and depth of sound ,from these channels, are superb. Throws a shadow over later reissues . A solid, very good aural delivery for the most part and dips slightly to good+ during quieter passages/between tracks/opening grooves with some surface noise detected. There are a few audible scratches, resulting in ticks and clicks but are not too intrusive. Tones rise above any surface disturbance, to convey that extra loud cut engineering only found on these earliest pressings.
An absolute treasure and will find difficult to match.
LABELS
Very good labels. No fading /strong coloration ,with no hand writing, nor damage.There is some mottling, when angled, against label 2.
One of the earliest, FIRST UK pressings of this magnificent Floyd classic . Rare to find one complete, with the original polythene black bag, sticker , postcard and the thicker, heavy weight vinyl. Will stand proud in any collection .
