Description
You are bidding on a used copy of “The Wall” by Pink Floyd on vinyl, released by Columbia records in 1979. Run-out information identifies this as a US Pitman pressing; original pressing is confirmed by both the jacket design (bricks are not flush with top and bottom edges) and in the credits inside the gatefold (this edition says “Written by Roger Waters, except...”, a credit that was amended in various ways on subsequent pressings).
Vinyl is in overall VG condition, closer to VG+. The wax displays visible handling streaks on all four sides when held up to the light, most of which could likely be removed by cleaning the record. There are also a couple visible hairlines on Sides 1 & 2, but they do not feel deep enough to cause problems. The original printed inner sleeves are present. Both show standard general wrinkle wear from being slid and out of the jacket. Sleeve 1/2 also has 3” seam splits in the center along each edge, as well some water tanning and a black pen mark next to the title “Empty Spaces” (all visible in photos); sleeve 3/4 is in almost identical condition, including the same seam splits, water tanning and another pen mark next to the title “Hey You” (also all visible in photos). The jacket and gatefold are in overall nice shape with standard shelf wear and normal wear along the edges and corners. However, there is also denting and residue from an old price sticker in the upper right quadrant on the front, as well as a small triangle drawn in black ink in that same area. Additionally, the back cover shows some water tanning in the upper right corner (this appears to be the same damage that bled through onto the interior sleeves and all the way through the jacket; it’s also present in the corresponding areas inside the gatefold and a tiny bit on the front cover). Spine is crisp and fully legible. Obviously, this isn’t a perfect copy, but this is exactly how I received it; for anyone just looking for a solid original press player copy, this one should serve that purpose just fine. PLEASE NOTE: I am not a professional grader. As a collector, I have vinyl that looks absolutely destroyed but plays perfectly without a single skip, and I also have records I purchased Brand New that don’t have a single mark on them but skipped for no evident reason the first time I played them out of the shrink wrap. It’s just the nature of the format. All of the records I’m selling are graded based on the best assessment I can make by looking at the vinyl—obviously, I can’t listen to every record start to finish before listing them, so I’m providing the most detailed photos and descriptions I can to make sure anyone who purchases from me knows exactly what they’re buying and is satisfied. Cool? Cool.
