Description
DESCRIPTION: Pink Floyd LP- Dark Side of The Moon. Legendary 1st UK pressing with Solid Blue prism on labels. Blue/Black gatefold sleeve. The sleeve does not have the flap that folds under (I have had another 3 copies of this , one folded under, two didnt and one of them was stickered!!). A2/B2 Matrix numbers. This has a black shaped inner but does not have the PATENT Nos print on. Saying that Ive also had a solid blue prism with a white shaped inner with near identical print on to the black ones. It has 2 stickers with "Crackback Patented" "Fasprint Permanent" and "Bend on Line" brown print. It has 2 posters with it. LABEL AND CATALOGUE NUMBER: Harvest SHVL 804 YEAR OF RELEASE: 1973 COUNTRY OF RELEASE: UK CONDITION (VINYL/COVER):FAIR/FAIR+ Vinyl is clean but has a lot of light brushing lines, hairlines and a few feelable scratches. It looks like it probably has not been stored in its sleeve. Played in its entirety today. The quieter tracks and passages have considerable surface noise and ticks, often intrusive. The louder, fuller tracks play around Good. Side one plays through without jumps, skips or sticks. Side 2 has a couple of skips on "Us and Them" and some persistent loud crackle. Again, once the music builds its listenable. If you have very expensive stereo equipment you may not want to be playing this on it. Faded Blue/Black Cover is firm and square and has heavy edgewear but no splits, near heavy cornerwear and moderate creasing/rubbing. Some small print tears to rear of sleeve. Inside of gatefold is clean and looks around VG. Black inner is in decent shape (though its not original), no splits and Poly still intact. ! Solid Blue prism labels are faded, no writing but print tear to one side. The stickers are nice and smooth- neither have been used. Both of the posters are nice and clean. "Pyramids" has pinholes in corners. Not one for the audiophile but a chance to own an increasingly rare UK First Pressing of one of the best Lps ever at a very decent start price. PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER PINK FLOYD and CLASSIC/HARD ROCK LISTINGS IN MY EBAY SHOP. Grading system: I use UK’s “Record Collector” Grading System but please note that GRADINGS ARE VISUAL ONLY UNLESS STATED. You are likely to get some background noise , even if its just between the tracks on 30-40 year old vinyl records!! :: MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface mark or deterioration in the sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in the sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover, or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound has noticably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc. I will at times use a + or - to indicate when a record falls between the grades. I REMOVE ALL VINYL FROM SLEEVES PRIOR TO POSTING. RECORDS ARE SENT IN BEST QUALITY MAILERS WITH 2 STIFFENERS.
