ITEM DESCRIPTION

An incredible opportunity to own the ultimate "Holy Grail" of progressive rock vinyl: an authentic, 100% complete 1973 UK First Pressing of Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon.

This is the legendary first issue featuring the Solid Blue Triangle center labels, the earliest A2 / B2 matrix stampers, and the distinct dark-green tinted gatefold sleeve. Critically, this copy is 100% complete with all its original inserts, hype sticker and preserved in a beautiful Very Good Plus (VG+) to Excellent (EX) condition.

Finding an A2/B2 pressing is rare; finding one with all-original inserts and hype sticker in this condition is a true collector's event.

PROVENANCE & IDENTIFICATION SPECIFICATIONS:

Matrix / Runout (Side 1 Stamped): SHVL 804 A-2

Matrix / Runout (Side 2 Stamped): SHVL 804 B-2

Center Labels: Light solid-blue filled prism/triangle on both sides (Gramophone Co. Ltd. rim text).

Sleeve Construction: Original gatefold cover with a distinct dark green hue. Left-side inner panel is correctly glued down/sealed at the factory edge.

Stickers: Original 1973 matte-finish variants featuring the correct crack-back paper backing with authentic manufacturer text.

Posters: Original matte-finish heavy paper posters (Pyramids & Band group shot).

DETAILED CONDITION GRADING (Goldmine Standard)

VINYL: Excellent (EX)

Visual: Retains a gorgeous, deep glossy sheen. Under bright grading lights, there are no deep marks or nasty scratches—only a couple of faint, microscopic paper hairlines/sleeve removal wisps. Labels are pristine with minimal spindle wear.

Audio: Plays beautifully with fantastic, powerful dynamics. Quiet passages (like Speak to Me and On the Run) play with only minimal, occasional ambient surface noise, completely normal for a 1973 pressing.

The "Money" Play-Test: Highly critical for collectors—this copy has been fully play-tested and DOES NOT SKIP on Side 2, Track 1. It tracks perfectly across the notorious early-stamper groove loop.

GATEFOLD SLEEVE: Very Good Plus (VG+)

The spine is remarkably straight and fully legible. Edges show only minor, light shelf rubbing. Inside gatefold is incredibly clean. No writing, no tears, and no heavy ring wear. A truly sharp, sturdy cover.

POSTERS & STICKERS: Excellent to Near Mint (EX / NM)

Both posters are crisp, vibrant, and completely free of pinholes, tape, blue-tack marks, or tears. They look as though they have never left the sleeve. Both stickers are pristine, completely unused, with perfectly intact original backing paper.

INNER SLEEVE: Very Good Plus (VG+)

Original poly-lined die-cut black inner dust sleeve. No major splits, fully functional and original to the record.
