We have selected songs that truly reveal our personal testimonies about God in his saving grace. Odis Stephens, one of the original Messengers in 1957, just seems to grow in spirit and enthusiasm as he sings first tenor. He manages the group and does most of the booking. His younger brother Johnny will bless your heart good as he sings the second tenor. Listen as he tells you in “I Never Knew Love” and then “This Same Jesus.” Lance Key, the youngest member of the group sings the baritone and has just recently been richly blessed by the Lord with the ability to play along on the bass guitar. Lance is a real asset to The Messengers as he is truly filled with the spirit and reveals it in his every day living. He really sings his praises as he does “I Wanna See Jesus.” Sam Combs from Elkin, N.C. sings the bass. Many people really receive a blessing as Sam really puts his heart into every song he sings. You’ll enjoy his smooth bass on several of the old-time spirituals along with “That’s The Man I’m Looking For.” About 16 months ago, I was privileged to join the Messengers as the pianist. This has been the greatest experience of my life as the spiritual influence these boys have had on our home and lives is outstanding. I enjoy playing and on each program I am honored to sing a few of my favorite songs, such as the No. 1 Gospel Song, “One Day At A Time” and “Oh, It Thrills Me.” God has richly blessed The Messengers and it is our prayer that this record might reach the ears of the lost and bless the hearts of our many Christian Friends.
