PiL PUBLIC IMAGE JOHNNY ROTTON SEX PISTOLS metal box UK 1st press VG++

ARTIST: PUBLIC IMAGE LIMITED (PiL)

TITLE: METAL BOX

LABEL:VIRGIN METAL 1

Iconic post punk avant-garde triple 12" single collection in the famous metal film canister-type box.  The box itself grades VG+. This example is not mint but it is still in collectible condition with no major defects.

There is some discolouration and tarnishing of the metal  but the box still retains brightness and the all-important 'Metal 1' sticker is still present on the bottom of the metal box. There is a very slight crease (see photo) but this absolutely not an issue and is mentioned for completeness only. I have never noticed it until now.

The three 12" singles are all in VG++ to EX- visually with some very very slight non-sounding marks. The aural quality is excellent (EX). Each plays through with no deterioration of the sound and definitely no clicks or pops or distortion.

The box has the original four round paper dividers to protect the vinyl but the song list is not original. There are no tears and only minimal handling wear and I grade them VG+.

BUYER INFORMATION

I am a collector and I only sell records from my personal collection. I aim to be totally objective about the records I sell. However please note that unless the play quality is specifically mentioned records are graded visually. I aim to describe the visual appearance of all items accurately using the standards below which are based on the UK Record Collector Price Guide. The highest grade I use now is NEAR MINT ('UNPLAYED' if still sealed in shrink wrap or occasionally full MINT but only if the provenance of the item suggests this to be correct). Records graded EX+ or EX++ would probably be called 'near mint' or 'mint' by most sellers. Please READ THE ITEM DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY and study photographs to avoid disappointment later. I will refund only on items which do not conform to the description and standards set out here.

GRADING SYSTEM

NEAR MINT: The record appears to be in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and other inserts are perfect. For MINT grading see above

EXCELLENT: The item has been played and may have some light surface marks but there is very little, if any, lessening in sound quality. Cover and contents have slight wear.

VERY GOOD: The record has been played quite alot  but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Cover and contents show some wear.

GOOD:The record has been played many times and the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably. The cover and contents are often damaged.

I use EX++,EX+,VG++,VG+ as subsidiary gradings. Unless the record is extremely rare I do not sell items which are less than VG in condition.

Check out my feedback and you will feel secure in bidding but please note I cannot guarantee to describe every detail of the record and cover BUT the grading will reflect the general, actual condition. ONLY if the grading does not reflect the overall condition of the item will I refund. But be assured that if there is any major defect not mentioned by me I offer a no quibble guarantee. I do not refund return postage costs.
