Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +21,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. 1. This is a GREAT, underrated LP...it's true these cats went down the rural rock commercial road so many years later BUT they didn't know that when they released their first LP in 1969 ...NRBQ came together as a garage-rock band, the youthful long hair juices were flowing ...listening to SUN RA albums, resulting in a high wired rocked-up affair, a decidedly whacked-out affair:::: file in the "underground rock" format...

Original 1969 first pressing on the highly collected 360 Sound Columbia label ~ the very FIRST album by roadster hippie outfit N.R.B.Q. away back when they were a garagey rocker band before the *rural* in their *rock* set in....no sir, this is NOT the commercial country band that reached success, but rather a crew of longhair dope smoking 'heads' who amazingly got signed to the major Columbia label, and promptly 'let looose....'

The Lp, containing NO commercial potential, was played over selected FM underground radio stations in the late '60s mainly due to the fortunes of having a Columbia Records release.

At the outset in the late '60s N.R.B.Q. were basically a band of rockers with a psych edge (they do a SUN RA cover! ) ...All said, a classic underground album that goes on fairly unknown but scores high marks for the bands high energy charm and appeal ...

One of the lesser seen 360 sound Columbia label releases of the sixties

The NRBQ's first album is as succinct a summation of what this band was about than perhaps anything they've released thereafter. After opening the record with a storming version of "C'mon Everybody," they take a breath and leap headlong into a raucous psyched-out version of Sun Ra's "Number 9." Add to that a songwriting collaboration between Terry Adams and composer Carla Bley, and the great guitar playing of Steve Ferguson (really great on "Stomp"), and you've got the makings of a tremendously important record by a furiously eclectic and always wonderful band. Ever since at the tail end of the sixties, one writer called NRBQ the best since the Beatles (something like that) it has been the victim of terrible anti-hype. One thing for sure, give it some spins and find it's an original sound.... and grows on you..

See photo #2, hardly significant, BUT has 2 tiny notes by two tracks as was intended as radio information ... Also another mostly erased one at top and that's it!  .... there are no split seams, no bends, no writing, no delete marks ... still a TOP collection worthy rarity after 55 years ...there are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ~~
