Description
PROCOL HARUM - self titled
Increasingly rare and sought after psych/prog gem with the overall impressive MONO sound quality and original flipback outer sleeve being real highlights
Year/Label : 1967 REGAL ZONOPHONE UK Label number : LRZ 1001 Matrix numbers : XCARX 37-2, XCARX 38-2 Stampers : 1 P / 1 AVery good plus ( VG+) condition vinyl retaining a nice jet black lacquered sheen though close inspection under a bright light does reveal a number of wispy hairlines and extremely faint scuff marks - all superficial apart from a wispy hairline (just, and only just, feelable) resulting in light rotational clicking during the first half of A5 and a tiny scratch (again just feelable) resulting in three light clicks on B4. The labels are excellent (EX) with the only blemishes being some small and very faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label - otherwise perfect! An excellent (EX) condition front-side laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flip back outer sleeve with firm unscuffed edges, rigid spine with all spine text remaining perfectly intact, nicely defined right-angled corners with barely any rubbing, firm opening edges with no fraying, great condition flip backs, no area of laminate lift, and all colours, art work and text remaining vibrant and beautifully intact.The only blemishes (very trivial) are some laminate surface creases/crinkles adjacent and perpendicular to the edges on the front side and again a few on the reverse side where the laminate wraps over onto the flip backs. There are two faint "R. & B. RECORD SHOP" original retailer stamps on the reverse side - for me these are not blemishes, they are stamps of auithenticity! Overall very good plus (VG+) MONO sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, or distortion and the only clicks and crackle are some very light rotational clicking during the first half of "Cerdes" on side 1, x3 light clicks on "Good Captain Clack", and just the very occasional (3 or 4) very light random background clicks; any background crackle is at an absolute minimum - just some very light crackle during a couple of the intermissions on side 1. Otherwise great tone and clarity with every track a great listen. Comes with original and very good plus condition plain white "MADE IN ENGLAND" inner sleeve with no splits or edge fraying, and just a little mild creasing and a few small areas of minor age discolouration. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. A few relatively minor blemishes but still a very nice copy of this Procol Harum classic, making for a great listen throughout.
POSTAGE COSTS :
For the UK £3.64 using Royal Mail tracked 48, ebay "Simple Delivery";
for continental Europe £11 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,
and for the rest of the world £17 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.
I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.
Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 55 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
