Provenance/Condition

These press kits were a limited release, very often well used having been handled by lots of different people, as a result most were badly damaged or had their contents split. This example is incredibly rare as it is complete. In addition the paper documents are in near Mint condition as are the majority of the photographs. With only one, no 8 having what looks like a small droplet of some type of liquid spilt on it in the past, see photo, this does not detract from the overall quality of the picture. The custom silver folder has aged well as it is still complete, with the only noticeable damage being a small tear on the reverse, viewable in the photos included (1/4 the way up on the left hand side).

In my 25 years of collecting Prince I have only ever seen two other US examples, one was missing half the photos and had a ripped front cover the other was missing all the paper documentation and had a large split down the seam of the folder.

The US media pack was issued to coincide with the first ever launch of the movie in America on the 27th of July 1984, the rest of the world followed afterwards, making the US version the original.

Condition - Excellent

Conservative estimate of Excellent due to a crack on the top and side of outer sleeve, surface damage not split. Both creases approximately 1.5 cms long. Without these marks I would have graded the product Mint, Vinyl unplayed by me, sharp and clean, poster as vinyl in Mint condition. Happy to provide additional photos upon request as I have used up all 12 allocated photo spots.
