Description
Original, scarce LP release from P.O.A., Home, issued in 1978 by Applause Records (LP S 277-02). LP is in superb condition, VG++ but for a very slight edge warp, just on the lip, that causes a whoosh which disappears as soon as the music begins; very unobtrusive. Cover is VG++, still in the shrinkwrap. Original lyric insert is also included, VG+.

“If you have an ear for rural-edged guitar-driven hard rock along the lines of Joshua or the first two Petra LPs, then chances are you’ll love this obscure home-made recording from six Arcola, Illinois guys. ‘Not So Cheap Thrills’ opens with some meaty growling electric guitar. More of the same follows on the shuffling boogie rocker ‘Keep On Trustin’, the energetic ‘Jesus May Come Today’ and the seven-minute ‘Sleeping’ (which reminds me a little of Rainbow Promise). ‘Lantern’ is a fine Arp-string-backed rural ballad. Horns on a few tracks: putting a slick groove on the funk-rockin’ ‘Soul Brother’, or jazzing up the closing hymn ‘Rock Of Ages’ into pure swingin’ New Orleans Dixieland.”
