PINK FLOYD : WISH YOU WERE HERE
On offer here is a rare A1/B3 first press of Wish You Were Here in wonderful condition and includes the iconic postcard. This LP will not disappoint the true fan such is the quality of the audio.
Visual grading
Under a bright light the vinyl is in wonderful condition and retains a glossy sheen. It does a few very faint hairlines, no doubt caused by sleeve removal, with a slightly more visible one on Side Two. However, I must stress they do not have any affect on the quality of the quality which is detailed in full below.
Play grading
The intro to 'Shine On..' plays with wonderful depth and quality. There is minimal static during the entire intro, the audio is that good and no clicks or jumps at all obviously. Any static you do hear does not intrude into the audio whatsoever. The quality continues when the guitar and drums 'kick in' with only very slight intermittent static. This has to be one of the best versions of 'Shine On..' on a A1/B3 first pressing I have heard. There is perhaps a little more static half way through but in my opinion it does not detract from the quality of the audio and still plays with great clarity and depth as only vinyl can sound. There is a minimal static at the beginning of 'Welcome To The Machine' but then plays nigh on perfectly with stunning audio, an amazing listen. Just a hint of static right at the end.
'Have a Cigar' starts Side Two in exemplary style, with extremely clear audio, almost as new and with no interference. 'Wish You Were Here' plays with a little faint crackle at the beginning but then has wonderfully clear audio. 'Shine On parts 6-9...' plays with the faintest of static during the quieter sections but still plays with real quality to the end with no clicks or jumps.In summary this is one of the best A1/B3 first pressings I have ever heard and would be a great addition to any collection. I do not over grade as my feedback testifies and the audio on this LP is of a very high quality.
Cover
The iconic cover is in excellent condition with no wear to the edges at all and the thin pinched spine is also in perfect shape. With very little handling wear the top and bottom of the opening edge just has a little pinching. Very commonly this 'white cover' is found in very poor condition, but not this one! It retains its 'whiteness' with only a few faint fingerprint type marks.
Inner sleeve
The heavy cardboard lyric sleeve (with cropped corners) is in superb condition and is one of the best I have seen. It only has a couple of small marks on the lyric side. The 'red veil' side is in perfect condition.
Postcard
The postcard (with serrated edges) is in first class condition with no creases at all.

I would grade the vinyl conservatively as Ex+
The cover is Ex+
The lyric inner is Near Mint
The postcard is Mint
The labels are Ex+
