IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION - IT'S ONLY EVER BEEN PLAYED A HANDFUL OF TIMES (if that) AND IT SOUNDS SENSATIONAL (ON MY SYSTEM - AT A VERY, VERY LOUD VOLUME) DELIVERING CRYSTAL, CLEAN, CLEAR, STRONG AND VIBRANT AUDIO THROUGHOUT - GREAT COPY - VERY RARE TO FIND A PLAYING TO SUCH A HIGH STANDARD (see detailed audio assessment below)
AND ITS HOUSED IN AN IMPRESSIVELY CLEAN AND FRESH EXAMPLE OF THE FIRST ISSUE G&L COVER (WITH ACETATE 'STICKER') AND THE TWO ORIGINAL LYRIC INNER SLEEVES
THIS IS SUCH A NOTORIOUSLY DIFFICULT RECORD TO LOCATE IN DECENT PLAYING CONDITION - AS ANY PF COLLECTOR WILL KNOW - AND I ALWAYS FIND IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SOURCE ONES I CONSIDER WORTHY OF OFFERING FOR SALE AS MANY MINT (even unplayed) LOOKING COPIES ARE ALWAYS A REAL DISAPPOINTMENT ON PLAYBACK
SO I AM VERY PLEASED TO BE ABLE TO OFFER THIS BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE WHICH SOUNDS SENSATIONAL
FIRST PRESS DETAILS: THE FIRST ISSUE GARROD & LOFTHOUSE GATEFOLD COVER IS CREAM IN COLOUR, HAS NON-ALIGNED (at the bottom of the front) PURPLE BRICKS, NO BAND CREDITS ON THE INSIDE AND IS CONSTRUCTED OF ONE SINGLE PIECE OF CARD WITH JUST ONE SEAM JOIN ON THE TOP EDGE - A UNIQUE CHARACTERISTIC OF ONLY THE EARLIEST PRINTED COVERS - AND IT'S COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL ACETATE STICKER
THE TWO ORIGINAL UK LYRIC INNER SLEEVES ARE PRINTED ON THICK CARD WITH ROUNDED CORNERS AND TAN COLOURED INSIDE WITH A 9" TOP THUMB NOTCH (these have the catalogue number printed on two lines - there are inners printed with this info on one line and these are considered the earliest possible - but they are rarely seen)

RECORD TWO: SHSP 4112 A-6U, TML-S / SHSP 4112 B-6U, TML-X (A hitherto undocumented combination (6U/6U) not listed on Vernon Fitch's exhaustive Pink Floyd Archive)
MOTHERS/STAMPERS: The Mothers numbers are 1/3/1/1 but all Stamper letters are indistinct

LABELS: NEAR MINT
The record labels are clean, bright, fresh and unmarked.
Record One has no spindle traces at all on Side One and only some light ones on Side Two (possibly from one play).
Record Two has one (possibly two) on each side - this copy has clearly seen little play
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT
All surfaces still retain their original deep glossy sheen and shine like-new.
There is one tiny superficial mark on the run-in on Side Four, and under a bright light some wispy light hairlines can be seen but these are incredibly minor and have no audio consequence at all
VINYL Audio: NM/EX/NM/NM
Pink Floyd's soundscapes cover an amazing dynamic range - from the loudest crescendos to the almost silent ambient details (chirping birds, overhead planes, mumbles, whispers etc) and to find a copy of The Wall that will play in Mint condition has, in my experience, proved impossible (I have never heard one) but this is one plays beautifully throughout with no major audio issues of note - no scratches, no loud clicks or pops and no surface noise.
There is the (very) occasional light 'tick' but nothing loud and nothing I found at all intrusive and a two revolution brief patch of audio interference on Side Two's 'Don't Leave Me Now' (again, pretty minor and no evidence for this on the vinyl surface and apart from this the rest of Side Two is also NM) otherwise, the playback is exceptionally clean with a deep, rich, warm and crystal clear sound - absolutely stunning and I really cannot emphasise enough how hard these are to find playing to such a high standard
SLEEVE: NEAR MINT
The original G&L gatefold cover, which has a light glossy finish and just the one single join on the top edge, is sharp and fresh with few signs of handling - no marks, no ring-wear and a crisp, straight, unworn spine (which has just a slight touch of discolouration)
ACETATE STICKER: EXCELLENT++
The 'sticker' is clean and unmarked with no discolouration - just a light crease to the top corner
INNER SLEEVES: NEAR MINT
The two original lyric inners are also in superb condition - clean and fresh with no splits
ALL RECORDS ARE PACKAGED WITH THE VINYL OUTSIDE OF THE SLEEVE TO PREVENT ANY 'KNIFING' DURING TRANSIT
