Rare UK Mono Decca Contract Pressing w/ Corrected "Got A" Cover

PARLOPHONE RECORDS PMC 1206: MATRIX NOs XEX 447-7N/XEX 448-7N
Contract pressing done by Decca in 1963 / 1964 to help EMI meet the production demand for this LP. Has the famous Decca ring groove in the labels on both sides. Uses original EMI stampers with the 7N matrix on both sides. EMI pressed so many copies of this album at their Hayes factory that these Decca pressings are notably uncommon!
Vinyl ~ Very Good
The record looks decent but it does have some mainly visible signs of being carefully handled / played. There are some marks / scuffs on both sides, but generally there's nothing deep and nothing major or anything of effect on the sound. The only mark that looks concerning is one on the outer groove tracks of Side 1, which surprisingly has no noticeable effect on the audio! It still plays through quite nicely and it's clear that it was only played on good equipment but there can be some very light surface noise in places, mainly in the spaces between tracks. The audio quality is still superb throughout and above all else, it's a really awesome listen! It isn't the most HiFi experience out there, but the original mono pressings never really were. This cutting still has that raw and authentic energy that was such a large part of Beatlemania. Not the 100% best LP out there, but it does play well and it's a nice copy to satisfy Cover ~ Good +
The original cover is in Good + condition. It looks alright and still feels good to hold. That said, it does still have signs of wear. There are some visible spots of laminate wear on the front panel, some near the openings and some noticeable yellowing / dirt mainly on the back panel. The openings have some foxing to them too, but notably the front panel side has some chunks missing / torn off of the very edge. It's not perfect and it's clear that it was handled and loved before being stored away, but it's still holding up alright today and the spine text is still decent too.
It will come with an archival inner sleeve to protect the record surfaces and prevent dust from being reintroduced. Unfortunately the original Emitex inner is not present.
