UK HARVEST (SHDW 411) FIRST PRESSING (November 1979) OF PINK FLOYD'S DOUBLE LP SET "The Wall" - IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION - IT'S ONLY EVER BEEN PLAYED A HANDFUL OF TIMES (if that) AND IT SOUNDS SENSATIONAL (ON MY SYSTEM - AT A VERY, VERY LOUD VOLUME) DELIVERING CRYSTAL CLEAN, CLEAN, STRONG AND VIBRANT AUDIO THROUGHOUT - GREAT COPY - VERY RARE TO FIND PLAYING TO SUCH A HIGH STANDARD (see detailed audio assessment below) ESPECIALLY A VERY FIRST PRESSING (see below for all correct first issue criteria) AND ITS HOUSED IN AN IMPRESSIVELY CLEAN, UNWORN EXAMPLE OF THE FIRST ISSUE G&L COVER (WITH ACETATE 'STICKER') AND THE TWO, FIRST ISSUE, UN-SPLIT LYRIC INNER SLEEVES
THIS IS A REALLY SENSATIONAL COPY OF THIS FIRST UK PRESSING - THE BEST I'VE SEEN IN A LONG, LONG WHILE (these are very hard to find) AND VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED INDEED
THIS IS SUCH A NOTORIOUSLY DIFFICULT RECORD TO LOCATE IN DECENT PLAYING CONDITION - AS ANY PF COLLECTOR WILL KNOW - AND I ALWAYS FIND IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SOURCE ONES I CONSIDER WORTHY OF LISTING AS MANY MINT (even unplayed) LOOKING COPIES ARE ALWYS A REAL DISAPPOINTMENT ON PLAYBACK

FIRST PRESS DETAILS: THE FIRST ISSUE GARROD & LOFTHOUSE GATEFOLD COVER IS CREAM IN COLOUR, HAS NON-ALIGNED (at the bottom of the front) PURPLE BRICKS, NO BAND CREDITS ON THE INSIDE AND IS CONSTRUCTED OF ONE SINGLE PIECE OF CARD WITH JUST ONE SEAM JOIN ON THE TOP EDGE - A UNIQUE CHARACTERISTIC OF ONLY THE EARLIEST PRINTED COVERS
AND IT'S COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL ACETATE STICKER
THE TWO ORIGINAL FIRST ISSUE LYRIC INNER SLEEVES ARE PRINTED ON THICK CARD WITH ROUNDED CORNERS AND TAN COLOURED INSIDE WITH A 9" TOP THUMB NOTCH - THEY HAVE THE CATALOGUE NUMBERS PRINTED ON A SINGLE LINE - AGAIN, THIS IS A UNIQUE CHARACTERISTIC OF ONLY THE EARLIEST PRINTED INNERS

LABELS: The record labels are clean, bright, fresh and unmarked with less than a handful of light spindle traces on Record One and only one on Record Two. I would say Record One has been played 5 or 6 times max and Record Two maybe just once - NEAR MINT
VINYL Visual: All surfaces still retain their original deep, like-new glossy sheen and are practically unmarked. There are light wispy hairlines caused by the unkind thick card lyric inners but these have no audio consequence - the audio is the best you could wish for - NEAR MINT
VINYL Audio: Pink Floyd's soundscapes cover an amazing dynamic range - from the loudest crescendos to the almost silent ambient details (chirping birds, overhead planes, mumbles, whispers etc) and to find a copy of The Wall that will play in Mint condition has, in my experience, proved impossible (I have never heard one) but this is one of the finest I have heard and it plays beautifully throughout with no audio issues of note whatsoever - no scratches, no loud clicks or pops, no audio interference and no surface noise. The playback is beautifully clean with a deep, rich, warm and crystal clear sound - it's really stunning. Critically graded a very strong NEAR MINT for audio (if not better!) - this is an exceptionally copy and I really cannot emphasise enough how incredibly hard these are to find. In my opinion, as good as it gets - the closest to a full MINT I've heard and very, very highly recommended indeed
SLEEVE: The original G&L gatefold cover, which has a light glossy finish and just the one single join on the top edge, is sharp and fresh with few signs of handling - no marks, no ring-wear and unworn edges and spine - beautiful copy - very clean with no signs of discolouration - NEAR MINT
ACETATE STICKER: The 'sticker' is clean and unmarked with no creases or discolouration - NEAR MINT
INNER SLEEVES: The two original (one line) lyric inners are also in superb condition - clean and fresh with no splits to the bottom or side edges - NEAR MINT (Both records are now housed in new inners with NAGAOKA anti-static liners)
