PINK FLOYD - THE FINAL CUT - Vinyl LP - Original 1983 album - Nice Copy.

Classic and original 1983 album from Pink Floyd "The Final Cut"

The album is issued on the EMI/Harvest Recording label recording label, the catalogue number is  SHPF 1983.

I have researched this copy and whilst I believe it is a 1983 edition - possibly a first pressing, I have been unable to pinpoint an exact match as the matrix stampers are virtually exact matches for 1983 releases with the exception of one last digit for example, 

Side One: 

SHPF 1983 A - 1U - 1 - 2-  then TML - S is stamped in smaller print immediately underneath.

Side Two:

SHPF 1983 B - 2U - 1 - 4  then TML - M is stamped in smaller print twice further around the play off section.

***Of interest*** as one opens the inside of the sleeve there is still a Woolworth's sticker in situ.....dated 5/5/83 so I am optimistic that this is a first pressing of the album

About the album:

The Outer  Sleeve:

Remains in a very good state of preservation it is of the gatefold type, the corners,sides and spine are all very well preserved for its age with no rips, or tears just minor creases and buffing to the edges(please see photos).The serial number of "shpf 1983" and the artist/ album's title can still be distinguished quite easily on the spine. Under bright lighting conditions I have noted a series of print impressions on the front cover that don't show up until held against bright light - I can only assume someone has at some time took to using the cover to rest on when writing - when I have no idea as I have owned this album since the late 80's.This does not in my view spoil the overall patina and presentation of the album cover - please have a look at the photo's as I have tried to capture the impressions I am talking about.

The Inner Sleeve:

Is a factory pressed black coloured poly carb insert that remains in good condition.

The Vinyl:

Presents on both sides with an excellent glossy sheene.Please see photo's.

Side One:

 A close visual examination under bright lighting conditions of side one doesn't particularly  reveal any  surface marks/scratches that are not of any particular concern to me  , I have therefore played side one and on my audio equipment the sound reproduction is of excellent quality and faithful.As with any vinyl - even new one can detect the occasional crack consistent with hard to detect surface marks or dust, some being louder than others, this is particular noticeable on quitter sections of the album such as on play-off's, intros and in between tracks, that said it does not in my view spoil the listening quality of the vinyl. Again and on my equipment at no time have I detected any skipping, sticking or jumping on side three.

Side Two:

The labels on both sides are in lovely clean order.
