Description

THE IN-SECT “A-Sides” Aussie W&G LP garage punk freakbeat fuzz psych 1966 recordings NEAR MINT DISC RARE MONO LP FULLY AUTOGRAPHED

The In-Sect >>> In-Sect A-Sides with The In-Sect LP (orig. Australia W&G MONO WG-25/5045 / flipback cover)

Release date: Early 1967.  Recording dates: 1966.

On offer here is an ULTRA RARE original W&G RECORDS issue of the only album by Adelaide-based group, THE IN-SECT.  Not to be confused with the British & American acts of the same name, this group hailed from South Australia and issued this album in early 1967.  This is my last remaining copy of two owned in the last 25 years and the disc is in STUNNING condition!  I have sighted several copies of THE MISSING LINKS original album on PHILIPS, so this should give you an indication of how truly rare this vinyl artefact is.

The amazing BONUS is ALL FIVE AUTOGRAPHS appear on the back cover: Frank Sebastyan, Phil Wooding, Steve Lada (who had replaced Allan Sands by the time this LP was issued), Peter Manuel and Geoff Pretty.

Most of the album tracks are cover versions with the exception of two outstanding local compositions.  “Let This Be a Lesson” & “I Can See My Love” are KILLER AUSSIE FREAKBEAT tracks with a buzzing guitar sound and intense energy.  They were also issued as highly collectable (and expensive) 45’s in their own right.  Cover versions include “Take It Easy” (THE ANIMALS), “I Am Waiting” (ROLLING STONES), “Down and Out” (THE CHEYNES), “I Ain’t Got You” and “Over Under Sideways Down” (both by THE YARDBIRDS).  I’ve included YouTube links to a few of my favourite LP cuts below.  Enjoy!
