Description
Just recently I bought a massive collection of 60's and 70's LPs...some are in surprisingly immaculate condition, and some are not, but the original owner (a well-respected Australian vinyl hoarder) was a fastidious collector of the styles he loved - 60's beat/punk/garage, British invasion well-knowns [Beatles/Hollies/Dave Clark 5/Gerry & The Pacemakers/Zombies/Troggs/Rolling Stones, etc..], 70's West Coast sounds, pop-psych and he'd obviously forraged far and wide since there's a flurry of unique South American, New Zealand,Taiwanese, South African, Japanese releases amongst them all.
Here then, is one of the LPs from his collection:

CATALOGUE #: ST-11078 .
DATE OF RELEASE: 15 June 1972 .
PRESSED IN: USA .
ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING?: Yes, it is...one of several first pressings, depending what pressing plant it was manufactured in. Matrix numbers (both hand-enscribed, not stamped) are:
SIDE ONE: 1-11078-F-3. 3
SIDE TWO: 2-11078-F-3. 1
...meaning it was pressed in Capitol's Los Angeles pressing plant, in early June 1975, and is quite possibly the very first "O.B.C." pressing made there - it's that last, single number that tells the tale...and I've never heard of a '2' or a '1' as the final number on the Side One matrix. Nor do either appear to be documented anywhere that I can find.
Lime green / dark green Harvest labels. The area above the title on label is blank (on the 2nd pressing there was "All Rights Reserved..." wording there).
Text around bottom edge of label starts at 8 o'clock and says:
Mfd. by Capitol Records, Inc., a subsidiary of Capitol Industries, Inc., U.S.A. - ® Capitol Marca Reg. - U.S. Pat. No. 2,631,859
CONDITION:
COVER: ( M- )...I'm so tempted to call this MINT, as there is no sign of any ringwear, or cover wear at all, other than the tiniest of scuffs in a couple of the corners...but really, most would refer to this as immaculate!...
RECORD: ( M- )...almost as shiny and pristine and clean as the day it was made, with the sole exception of a couple of very tiny, very light 'hair-line' marks only (very hard to see even, that insignificant!) - and they have NO effect on play whatsoever...it plays perfectly mint!!...
LABELS: (Side One: MINT / Side Two: MINT )...has NO spindle marks on labels...looks like it had never been played, until I just played it now to confirm how mint it actually sounds!...
