Album / Record Title: soundtrack from the film MORE

A true first pressing of this very rare album.

A real serious collectors piece.

Rarity:  EXTREMELY RARE. FIRST PRESSINGS of this album came with only two label variants, one with a single boxed EMI label (the first pressing), with ‘Sold In UK…Price Conditions’ text. Later second pressings were issued with the common two boxed EMI labels on the vinyl. This being undoubtedly an example of a GENUINE FIRST PRESSING on the one only BOXED EMI LOGO COLUMBIA LABEL and the reason I state this is because it clearly has the FIRST PRESS MATRICES and STAMPERS on HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL with all the characteristics consistent with the earliest pressings. It has the ORIGINAL front laminated COVER with flip-backs and the GREEN TINTED non-laminated back featuring the couple looking to the WEST, or the left as you look at it, Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Also it has the ORIGINAL EMI COMPANY INNER SLEEVE with the brownish print advertising other EMI albums, but with the patent numbers whereas the earliest had ‘Patents Applied For’ inners. These features mark this album out as being parented from the first masters and probably from the latter stage of the FIRST ISSUE - I have never seen another one like it and it could be among the RAREST. This is an excellent example of this now much sought after example of this album, with a vinyl which is EXCELLENT+ and delivers the BEST AUDIO performance of any vinyl I have ever heard from this album - as those of you who are familiar with the album will know this is a difficult album for top quality audio due to the nature of the music. The key features are listed below:

The mother stampers on the pressing for sale here show without doubt this pressing is most probably one of the first press runs of this album.

Side two:        1      A

Track Listing as per label: SIDE 1: CIRRUS MINOR / THE NILE SONG / CRYING SONG / UP THE KHYBER / GREEN IS THE COLOUR / CYMBALINE / PARTY SEQUENCE / SIDE 2: MAIN THEME / IBIZA BAR / MORE BLUES / QUICKSILVER / A SPANISH PIECE / DRAMATIC THEME

My opinion & summary of condition: This is a fine example of Pink Floyd doing what they did best - making unique and superb atmospheric music which is entirely engaging and captivating, often seeming to move the listener into another dimension. This particular example is also highly collectible for its interesting credentials; it has the earliest GREEN TINTED back cover with the couple facing WEST which is clean, tidy and in excellent condition and is COMPLETE with NO tears and NO ‘chewed’ EDGES. The audio delivery is EXCELLENT or better throughout, In my opinion this is an outstanding and highly recommended collectors buying opportunity.

(based on Record Collector ‘Rare Record Price Guide 2008’)

Vinyl Visual side 1: EXCELLENT+, some superficial surface lines and small bag marks, none of which are tangible with light finger touch and they have no significant audio consequence.

Vinyl Visual side 2: EXCELLENT+, some superficial surface lines from sleeve removal only, none of which are tangible with light finger touch and they have no significant audio consequence.

Label Visual side 1: EXCELLENT+, some light spindle lines which are few and hard to see, no visible wear in the spindle hole, generally a lovely, first rate label.

Label Visual side 2: EXCELLENT+, some light spindle lines which are few and hard to see, no visible wear in the spindle hole, generally a lovely, first rate label.

Outer Cover: Excellent The original front laminated single slip cover of lightweight card construction, by Hipgnosis Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd., File under POPULAR : Films and Shows, top right flip-back, and Patent No.943,895 SCX 6346. the spine of the outer sleeve is intact and fully readable.  The non-laminated back has just a hint of ageing.

Inner Sleeve: VERY GOOD/ EXCELLENT, the original EMI Company inner, white paper and brown print showing other EMI albums, patent numbered, lightly creased but without any splitting.

Vinyl Warp: none visible when eye tested on a moving turntable.

Play Grade: EXCELLENT and without fault.
