Soundtrack From The Film "More"

This vinyl is in superlative condition and is graded as below.  The green tinted cover with the couple facing west is the cleanest I have ever seen and remains in superb condition.

Visual grading

The vinyl is absolutely stunning and I have never seen a 1G/1G pressing looking as Mint as this one.  The same goes for the immaculate cover also.  The vinyl still has a jet black mirror like surface that is so glossy and clean it looks as if it was pressed yesterday.  I could only see a couple of very faint hairlines on S2 and that was only when it was tilted at an angle under a bright light.  There is no spindle wear on S1 and only one tiny spindle trace on S2.  It is just immaculate!

Play grading  

This stunning vinyl begins with only a minimal amount of mega light static on the first few seconds of 'Cirrus Minor' and then plays with astounding clarity which is all the more impressive when you consider how quiet this track is.  Throughout there is only very light intermittent background static with a little more on the fade out perhaps but it is in no way intrusive.  A fabulous start to this often underrated album.  Again 'The Nile Song' is so 'clean' and plays loud and true and by that I mean without distortion.  This pays testament to how well this vinyl has been cared and/or how little it has been played.  This song always plays with a fair amount of distortion but not here!  This is definitely the best version I have ever heard on a 1G/1G pressing, the clarity is superb.  Absolutely stunning.  'Crying Song' is another track that plays with fantastically clear audio.  The sonic quality is just superb and rarely will you hear this very quiet song playing with such sublime definition and so little 'background'.  There is barely any static and any you do hear does not intrude on the quality of the listen and again there are no clicks, crackle, pops etc.  'Up The Khyber' quite simply plays as Mint there is no other description for it.  'Green Is The Colour' and 'Cymbaline' practically match this standard with immaculate audio once more.  However, I must point out that there is a stick on the fade out of the latter.  It's very strange as there is no scratch or mark so I can only assume it is a pressing fault.  I have professionally cleaned it and it still doesn't remove it.  The whole side is spotlessly clean!  'Party Sequence' ends S1 with amazing clarity again and no interference.

'Main Theme' on S2 has hardly any static on the intro and the clarity is once again stunning.  I'm running out of superlatives for the audio on this album!  Once the drums 'kick in' the audio on the remainder plays with near Mint quality.  Wow!  'Ibiza Bar' again has no distortion and is easily the 'cleanest' I have heard.  'More Blues' has very clear sound but with a little 'hiss' in the background here and there, no clicks or pops though.  'Quicksilver' plays in a similar fashion.  It is obviously a very quiet track so the background hiss is perhaps a little more obvious but it isn't loud and in my opinion non-intrusive.  The clarity of the music is still very much in the forefront.  The final two instrumental tracks play with superb sound quality and no obvious interference.

Cover

It would be difficult to find a better laminated E.J. Day cover than this one.  The edges and thin pinched spine have no wear apart from one tiny 'rub' on the bottom edge and the corners are also super clean.  The opening edge looks to have been hardly handled and the stunning laminated front cover has only a couple of minor creases and one small mark near the top.  The green tinted back cover is without doubt the best I have seen, just look at the photos!  The flipbacks are so clean it defies belief!  This album has obviously hardly ever seen the light of day.  There is none of the staining that is commonly seen on these early pressings and only the flipback on the bottom edge has a tiny amount of wear.  The green tinted cover itself is also supremely clean with no marking.  Overall this is a fabulous example of this cover and is so rarely seen in this condition.

Inner sleeve

The original EMI sleeve is in superb shape with only two tiny tears on one side.  It is very clean with no marking and only light creasing.

The labels

The two box EMI labels are in immaculate condition with no spindle wear on S1 and only one tiny trace on S2.  They are beautifully clean with no marking or writing and look as new.  The run out grooves are also incredibly clean also.

Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable / B&W 684 Speakers

This record has been professionally cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
