Description
PINK FLOYD - MEDDLE
A truly excellent (at least!) condition 1971 UK 1st press Floyd prog gem
Year/Label : 1971 UK HARVEST Label number : SHVL 795 Matrix numbers : SHVL 795 A - 1U, SHVL 795 B - 1U Stampers : 2 GM / 1 RMExcellent (EX) condition vinyl) - completely flat, weighty and retaining a beautiful jet black lacquered sheen with earliest UK press "-1U/-1U" matrices. In normal daylight each side of the vinyl comes across as completely unmarked and it is only with close inspection under a bright light that two very wispy hairlines (3cm and 2cm) on side 1 can be identified along with a 5 cm extremely faint scuff line on side 2 - non-obvious, non-feelable (obviously), each appearing to be purely superficial and not impacting upon the terrific stereo sound quality at all. The labels are in excellent plus (EX+) condition - with close inspection it is possible to identify a few extremely faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label, otherwise perfect! Clearly this is a record that has been sparingly played and well looked after. Excellent (EX) condition non-laminated and fully textured (inside as well as on the outside) iconic Garrod & Lofthouse outer gatefold sleeve with firm and largely unscuffed edges (just three very small "nicks" on the reverse side bottom edge), a firm non-flattened spine (with some very minor intermittent light scuffing towards the top of the spine on the reverse side edge) with all spine text remaining perfectly intact, near perfectly defined right angled corners with barely any rubbing at all on each, no cardboard creasing, firm opening edges with no fraying, no unwanted writing and all photos, text, and beautiful art-work remaining vibrant, crisp, with perfect definition still and wonderfully intact. The fragility of these fully textured 1st UK press gatefold sleeves cannot be overstated so to be in condition as truly impressive as this is indeed rare : this iconic 70's gatefold sleeve remains fully functional, eminently presentable and hard to believe that it is now 54 years of age! Superb, excellent plus (EX+) sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion or background crackle - wonderful tone and crystal clear stereo reproduction with brilliant hard-to-fault stereo sound quality throughout. If you listen very carefully you may just be able to detect a couple of random and very low level nano-second clicks, no doubt caused by the odd speck of dust caught in the grooves through decades of upright storage - nothing really. Comes with original excellent condition poly-lined EMI/Harvest advertising inner sleeve with no side splits, no tears or edge fraying, and just some very minor age discolouration and light creasing. Note that I always ship the vinyl (in this case vinyls) in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. A truly excellent condition copy of this 1971 UK 1st press Pink Floyd classic, increasingly hard to come by in such impressive condition as this.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 54 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard
