Description

MASSIVELY RARE Original 1979 UK 1st Pressing Double Album 'The Wall' by Pink Floyd!!! With Original 1st Press Matrix (A2//B2//A3//B2), Transparency Acetate, Thick Die-Cut Inner Sleeves & Bottom Right Inner Sleeve Credits, Vinyl & Sleeve in Impossible Mint-/Mint- Condition!!!!!

You are bidding on on of the all time classic LP's - and almost impossible to find nowadays as a Nr Mint UK 1st Pressing (especially in this condition!!!) The awesome double 'The Wall' by Pink Floyd - complete with it's original 1st Press Front sleeve Transparency Sticker!!! This is an ORIGINAL UK 1979 UK 1st Pressing - What's more I am pleased to inform you that it is in STUNNING Nr MINT CONDITION Throughout!!!

The cool 1970's discs are both in beautiful Nr MINT condition and HAVE BEEN PLAYED ONCE ONLY!!! There are NO SCRATCHES on either vinyl, they are NR MINT - as simple as that!!!! It is very hard to find a true UK 1st press with genuine Nr Mint Unblemished vinyl discs!!! The transparency sticker is also Mint-. These were only available with only the very first UK issues of the album, and were sealed in under the shrink wrap. This was due to Floyd's penchant for not blemishing their album covers with text, and being removable, it was thought to be the best compromise between Floyd's aesthetic ideas of how an album cover should look and EMI's commercial aim of clear labelling to shift as many units as possible.

It is SO hard to find perfect unscratched copies of these discs because the UK Die-Cut 1st Press hard-carded inner sleeves were traditionally not kind to the discs, causing many surface marks as the discs were removed and replaced, on later pressings of the album the record company realised this and moved away from heavily carded sleeves to much less harsh paper inners. It is therefore very hard to find a true UK 1st press with genuine Nr Mint Unblemished vinyl discs!!! This one has survived the test of time so fantastically because each 1st press disc was carefully re-housed in replacement standard UK poly-lined Inner sleeves, which are much kinder to the playing surfaces. The original heavy card 1st press inners were carefully tucked away inside the sleeve for storage upon purchase of the record back in 1979). This is how the record will come shipped to you.

This one has survived the test of time fantastically and is in stunning blemish free condition - with a pristine glass-like sheen.  Just Look at these 1st press Matrix Stampers!!! - You  Will Not Find An Earlier UK 1st Pressing - let alone in Nr Mint Condition!!!

Cat No:

Harvest SHDW 411

Matrix:

Side 1 - SHSP 4111 A-2U

Side 2 - SHSP 4111 B-2U

Side 3 - SHSP 4112 A-3U

Side 4 - SHSP 4111 B-2U

As you'd expect, the Cool blue/white Centre Labels are in superb MINT- condition!!! This record really is pristine!!!  There are NO Tears, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind to the centre labels - they are as close to Mint as it is possible to get!!! Just a solitary spindle line on each side - the only evidence that this record has ever been played!!! The gramophone rims containing the all important matrix are also Mint.

The THICK & CHUNKY UK 1st press discs are in superb in condition with NO scratches, NO groove-wear and NO warping! Both discs are in straight Mint- condition with possible just the faintest wispy line of two when held up to direct sunlight- STUNNING!!! I would have to grade these two discs as a strong MINT- condition at the very least! Please remember that our records are not over-graded at all!

The very rare 1st press Transparency sticker of course is in stunning condition with no rips or wear, just only the very slightest hint of yellowing. EX+++

The classic 1st Press Gerald Scarfe & Roger Waters - designed Gatefold Sleeve is also in is also in STUNNING condition with NO Seam Wear, NO Tears, NO Seam Splits, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!!  It is nice and stiff and folds out perfectly!!!! The sleeve lies totally FLAT with NO RING WEAR and a MINT spine!!! Unbelievably it still retains all of its glossy cream (The 1st press sleeve was made in a cream colour - not pure white!!) factory sheen!! There is NONE of the discolouration normally associated with these sleeves. As with the discs, it grades as pristine Nr Mint at the very least!!!! I say at the very least because this record, from the discs to the sleeve and inners, really looks like it could have been plucked from the shelf of your local record store this morning!!!

Finally we come to the 1st press heavy card white Inner sleeves.  These are absolutely pristine white with NONE of the seam splitting or yellowing commonly associated with these sleeves! They best we have seen and nicely complete this Nr Mint UK 1st Press of 'The Wall'.

An absolutely essential (and very rare) 1st Press for any Pink Floyd/ UK Progressive fan to to own!!! Don't miss this one as these UK 1st Press LP's NEVER turn up any more in this kind of condition.  Please check out our feedback and bid with confidence as this is a NO RESERVE auction with a very low starting price!

Do not underestimate the rarity of this LP, it is very hard to find a UK true 1st press copy of 'The Wall' approaching this kind of condition, and you will very likely not see another in a very long time, if at all!!! And as usual it will go to the highest bidder! Like all my auctions, it has no reserve and a very low start, so once its gone its gone.

I will be selling my entire UK 1st Press collection of 1960/70's Psych/Prog./Rock & Folk over the coming months, most of these records are in Mint- condition and each have 3 figure book prices. All will be listed here on eBay UK at a £2.99 start with No Reserve - bookmark my pages. Like the vast majority of my collection, this record has been archived upright in a thick outer PVC sleeve in a smoke & damp free environment for the best part of 20-30 years!

All my records have No reserve, a Low Start and No Surcharges!

A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up  - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
