PINK FLOYD Animals UK HARVEST PROG LP 1st ISSUE WITH NO BAR CODE
Pink Floyd, Animals.
1977 England manufactured Harvest Records stereo LP, SHVL 815.
Earliest issue with the following issue points:
- No bar code on the cover.
- Thick cardboard cover with the front edge of the gatefold sealed with a foldunder, and a wide spine.
- Black cardboard inner sleeve with printed lyrics has round corners, and a 9-inch notch to the top opening edge.
- 4U/3U matrix suffixes.
An imperfect issue offered at a low start price.
Vinyl is still glossy but close inspection reveals a number of light hairline scuffs and some more obviously visible scuff marks to the A side. No really deep or feelable marks however.
The A side plays VG plus with occasional and infrequent low-level crackle.
The B side plays around G to VG minus with background crackle more frequent and noticeable, although behind the music rather than obscuring it. There are three softish consecutive ticks to the middle of "Pigs", else no loud or consecutive ticks or clicks.
A side label (pictured) has a rectangular patch of residue from removed sticker, not tacky or sticky. B side label is clean.
Inner sleeve at least VG plus, clean and unmarked, no splits. Just some very minor handling half moon creases.
External gatefold sleeve top end VG. Light overall wear including whitening scuffing to edges and joints and a patch at head of spine. No wearing through or seam splits however. Some small areas of ringwear whitening scuffing to top and bottom of rear panel. Bottom left of rear panel has a sticker residue mark identical to the one on the label. Entry side is still firm and crisp but has a couple of minor dings. Else clean and tidy and free of pen, stickers etc.
