ALBUM INFO:

This, the tenth release by Pink Floyd was the culmination of the re-worked tracks 'Reeling & Drooling' and 'You've Got To Be Crazy', plus a new song 'Pigs (three different ones)' and the reprise 'Pigs On The Wing'. 'Reeling & Drooling' (Sheep) and 'You've Got to Be Crazy' (Dogs) were added to by 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' which were played as the opening first half of their 1974 tour, I can remember the three songs vividly, the latter came out obviously on Wish You Were Here, the subsequent release after DSOM. As the band had re-worked the tracks during the tour, they weren't used originally, then re-worked again under Roger Water's concept of Animals, roughly based around George Orwell's Animal Farm. The album was released post punk explosion and didn't sell as well as their previous albums. This version is the earliest pressing, pressed on extra thick vinyl. As at the time the vinyl was getting thinner due to record companies trying to save money. The real unusual thing is the label itself, it has two inner circular ridges, looking like an early Decca pressing, similar to something like in the 60's. This gives the appearance of a textured label within the two rings, weighing in at an impressive 160g, which is rare for this LP. The album was released in January 1977. Recorded between April to December 1976 at Britannia Row Studios and this I believe to be one of the very first run, as the matrix numbers are the first run.

SLEEVE DESIGN:

Roger Waters (sleeve design)

Hipgnosis (photography of the legendary Battersea Power Station)

E.R.G (designed inflatable pig)

Ballon Fabrik & Jeffrey Shaw (constructed 30 feet porcine balloon - known as Algie)

PRODUCTION:

Pink Floyd (producer)

VINYL:

(EX) On Side 2 there are some surface marks at the beginning of track 2, which causes the LP to lightly pop a few times.

COVER/GATEFOLD:

(EX) This LP gatefold sleeve is in excellent condition for it's age, with no tears, corner splits, writing or sticker marks. The front and back have a few light creases and some minor wear mainly around the edges. The gatefold itself has a few light creases to the bottom edges, and some minor wear.

EDGES/SPINE:

There is some minor wear, however this is mainly to the corners; overall in excellent condition with no damage.

INNER SLEEVE:

This is the original inner sleeve, displaying the lyrics to the albums tracks; there is some minor wear to the edges, and a small split to the bottom edge, however overall in excellent condition.

LABELS:

Clean, no writing or damage.

AUDIO GRADING:

I play all LP's on my Pioneer PL 550-X. This album plays excellent with no clicks, jumps or distortion; the only faults to mention is that there is some occasional light background noise to Side 1; at the beginning on track 2 on Side 2, the record has a few light pops and some background noise, due to some surface marks; these faults however do not spoil a truly fantastic listen!

POSTAGE, PACKAGING, RETURNS

PAYMENT:

Items must be payed for within five days. If non payment within five days, I will then instigate an Ebay ruling. I will set up a dispute and either offer it to the runner up bidder or relist.

RETURNS POLICY:

I aim to provide an excellent service and hope that all buyers are satisfied with their purchase. However, if for any reason this should not be so, please contact me and on receipt of the item, I will give a full refund. I will not issue a refund if detail that is clearly stated on the advertisement has been missed by the buyer, so please read carefully.

PACKAGING:

I use preformed and standard mailers with stiffeners. I always take the vinyl out in its inner sleeve and place on top of the cover. This is then placed into a soft protective sleeve and packaged with stiffeners for full protection.

POSTAGE + PRICES

Please wait for an invoice before payment. I always ship between two-five days after payment. The prices below are based on one LP, however if several LP's are purchased, the cost will be slightly more. All EU and Over Seas purchases must be signed for with a value of up to £46. All purchases are sent Royal Mail first class. The postage prices include £1.50 for packaging materials.

EUROPE: First class signed for will be between £8- £12 depending where in Europe the item is being shipped, as it costs more to send to certain countries within the EU. For Example, it would cost me £8 to send an LP to Italy signed for, but would cost me £12 to send the same LP signed for to Switzerland.

ALL OVERSEAS (NON-EU): First class signed for will be £14.
