ANIMALS A2/B3
This rare A2/B3 pressing is in wonderful condition for its age.  The A2/B2 first pressings were manufactured in relatively low numbers and as the A2/B3 matrix numbers were produced at the same time they are generally considered as first pressings also.  What is very rare about this particular pressing is that it has no Stamper letters on the run out grooves, only Mother numbers.  What this means exactly I am not too sure!

Visual grading
Under a strong bright light I can detect a few very faint hairlines but I am sure these are caused by sleeve removal.  There are certainly no scratches and is an extremely clean looking vinyl, hard to believe it is nearly 40 years old.
Play grading
 There is almost no lead in static prior to 'Pigs on the Wing1' and then plays with audio that is so sharp and clear it belies its age.  I did hear one pop but no other interference.  The audio on 'Dogs' plays to a fantastic standard with only the merest hint of static here and there.  The clarity is stunning and plays with no clicks or jumps.  As is often the case the ending does play with a little distortion which you will commonly find with this LP.  
Again Side Two begins with hardly any lead in static so you know you're onto a winner again!  'Pigs (Three Different Ones)' has very slight static at the beginning but soon disappears to then play to an excellent standard.  There were four clicks during playback and a few light static sounds but honestly the audio still sounds wonderful and plays with a real depth and richness.  The background noise is just that, very much in the background and not intrusive in any way.  The very quiet intro to 'Sheep' plays very cleanly with only a hint of intermittent static.  Thereafter it plays with an excellent depth of sound with no clicks or jumps obviously, just the odd static sound again.  Exceptionally good audio for an LP nearing 40 years old.  'Pigs On The Wing2' ends the side with stunning clarity and no background noise at all, a fantastic ending.
Gatefold cover
The original G & L gatefold cover is in overall superb condition with only very slight shelf wear.  It has some minor rubbing to the top two corners and a very small amount of wear on the top edge of the reverse side but that really is the only wear worth mentioning.  The remaining edges and wide spine are in superlative condition and the opening edge has hardly been handled at all.  The front and back of the cover are in fact very clean with barely a mark on them. The inside of the gatefold is in fantastic shape and looks like new.
It has no bar code as per the first presses and also has the front edge of the gatefold sealed with a foldunder.  In the lower right corner, it says "Made and printed in Great Britain 7701 TM Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd."
Lyric sleeve
The cardboard lyric inner has the rounded corners as per first pressings.  The sleeve is actually very clean with only a couple of very small creases but it does have a split to one side of about 9cms.  It has the 9-inch notch on the edge that opens and in the lower right corner is the catalogue number "SHVL 815(I)"
Labels
In superb condition I can hardly detect any spindle wear.  No marks or writing at all.
