PINK FLOYD - A SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS - VINYL LP UK FIRST PRESSING MONO SX6258 - 1968. Welcome. For sale i have a very rare first (mono)pressing of pink floyd's 1968 a saucerful of secrets and the last pink floyd album to feature a song written and sung by pink floyd's creator syd barrett with his (swan song) jugband blue's and they say he was mad hmmm?. And featuring the only song to include all five members playing in (set the controls for the heart of the sun) my personel favourite! Making this a true rock relic. This lp is from my own personal collection and has been stored in a protective sleeve and then in a record case out of direct sunlight. Matrix as follows side 1 - XAX 3633 1M side 2 XAX 3634 1A. Other key indicators that this is a genuine first pressing are that gilmour on both the outer sleeve and on the record label has the misspelling gilmore this was corrected on later pressings. And also on side 1 near the spindle hole are stamped the letters K & T this is a tax code and was removed from later pressings. The original garrod and lofthouse flip back sleeve is in very good condition still retaining its bright phsycadelic colours no fading. Some creases in the laminate but nothing that ruins the overall appearance. The rear matte black and grey sepia cover is excellent and showing no signs of damage.The record itself is pretty amazing considering it is 52 years old lovely and glossy. The labels have no spider trails near the spindles the blue and black print is still very vibrant on both sides. Only a few very faint hairline/sleeve removal marks one small very faint scratch hard to see even under bright light does not effect play. I doubt you will find one in better condition? again its 52 years old!!!. This will only get rarer and increase in value!!! I have tried to describe this lp the best i can. I also believe i have priced this reasonably when you consider a mint version ( if they actually exist?) would sell for more than five times the amount!! So please no silly offers. I will post this record in a stiff card record mailer removing the record from jacket and placing into anti static sleeve to reduce chances of damage during transit.
