Description
On offer here is A Momentary Lapse of Reason in excellent condition. Under a bright light I can detect a couple of faint hairlines on Side One but they have no bearing on the audio as is described below. Side Two visually is in stunning condition. Overall the audio plays to a very high standard.
Play grading
'Signs of Life' plays extremely well for such an atmospheric track. It does play with a little static mainly at the beginning. 'Learning To Fly' has amazing audio with no interference. In fact the remainder of the side plays in impeccable style with only the faintest of static in a couple of places. The intro to 'On The Turning Away' has stunning clarity, especially so for being so quiet. There is a hairline that runs across the final two tracks but it has no affect on the audio in any way at all. A fabulous listen in my humble opinion :-)
'Yet Another Movie' starts Side Two with some light crackle but soon disappears once the tracks 'kicks' in. It then plays with excellent audio with minimal static and one click right at the end. 'A New Machine Part 1' plays extremely well just very faint intermittent static in the background. 'Terminal Frost' has great clarity and a little audible static towards the end. 'A New Machine Part 2' plays very well with light static again and one click. 'Sorrow' finishes the LP with stunning audio and almost zero interference, just one light click towards the end.
It does appear that I have mentioned static/crackle quite a lot! It is only very much in the background and you can only hear it during 'some' the quieter sections. I grade honestly and always give a comprehensive audio description. The audio still plays with a great depth and is still an excellent listen with no skips or jumps.
Cover
The gatefold is in wonderful shape and has absolute minimal shelf wear. It has a little rubbing on the corners but the edges are very clean with very little wear. There is a little spotting running down the right hand side of the front cover but only visible under a certain light really. I only mention it to be totally complete in my grading and many sellers would not mention it! The inside and back cover are in superb condition.
Lyric inner
The lyric inner is almost as good as new. Absolute minimal wear.
