Description
A Momentary Lapse of Reason A1 / B4 (very early pressing)
This early pressing is in excellent condition for its age. As described below the audio plays to a high standard and the gatefold cover only has a very minor amount of shelf wear.

Visual grading
Under a strong bright light you can see a few wispy hairlines no doubt caused by sleeve removal. There are no scratches and hardly any spindle wear. There are a couple of fingerprint marks but overall it is very clean and has obviously been well looked after and only lightly played over the last 30 (nearly!) years.
Play grading
This has to be one of the best 'Signs of Life' I have heard' as it plays with hardly any static at the beginning. So often I find it plays with loud crackle but here the audio is of a very high quality with barely any interference, just two clicks in the middle section. 'Learning to Fly' has Near Mint audio, a wonderful version with no static. 'The Dogs of War' has a little static at the start and then plays with immense quality. 'One Slip' again does not disappoint and plays with Mint audio in my opinion. 'On The Turning Away' with only 3/4 dust ticks at the start (98% of sellers would not even mention it) plays with great quality, just a little distortion towards the end which is generally the case on the early pressings.
There is light static at the start of Side Two but is not intrusive in any way. Thereafter 'Yet Another Movie' plays with exceptional audio and no further interference. The remainder of the side is of Near Mint quality. In fact I would say 'Terminal Frost' has Mint audio such is the quality. It is only a few of the very quiet sections that have any static but, as stated already, it is very quiet and does not affect the quality of the listening. 'Sorrow' ends the LP with stunning sound with a touch of static right at the end.
Gatefold cover
The gatefold has been extremely well looked after with only a small amount of wear on the top right edge. Other than that the edges are very clean with perhaps only a tiny amount of rubbing on the corners but that is maybe being harsh. It is certainly one of the better gatefolds you will find, a very clean version. A couple of miniscule marks on the back cover. The opening edge is very clean suggesting the record has not been removed too often.
Lyric sleeve
The lyric inner is in fabulous condition and only has a tiny amount of rubbing on a couple of corners. There are no splits or markings anywhere.
Labels
They are in excellent condition with only a handful of faint marks.
