Description
During the time PJP worked on the 'THANKS' album JGS his manager referred to him as Mr. Smith. P J Proby's real name is James Marcus Smith. However Jim did not like being called Mr. Smith he would say 'That is my father's name, I am Jim'.
John G. Sutton asked PJP to sign one of the 12" singles of STAGE OF FOOLS for him and in an amusing moment to mark his ire at being addressed rather too properly he wrote as the dedication:
'To Sutton From Mr. Smith AKA P J Proby'
That is the record and signed sleeve that is now offered for sale. John G. Sutton has signed this himself on the back beside his name beneath the sleeve notes that he wrote. John is the songwriter of the title track and the narration featured on this record.
Also is offered a signed by PJP headed notepaper from The Lansdowne Hotel dated 5th April 1991 his opening night in Blackpool. This was the night that Granada ITV filmed Jim for the Television Documentary PJ Probably.

Plus two headed notepaper letters addressed to 'June' personally hand written by P J Proby and signed by him 'James PJP'. These letters were given to his then manager John G. Sutton they make reference to Jim's work and his preference for a younger female partner comparing himself to the film actor John Derek. Total of three pages with hand written message on five of the six sides. These letters composed by PJP contain mention of his then age of 51 years dating them to the year 1990 immediately prior to his recording of the 'THANKS' CD Album.
